How do you all programmers make time for skill development as well as college syllabus. I mean i am 4th sem student currently studying BCA, but i find myself not even done a good single project..neither i am good(perfectionist) at any single skill.
I am not comparing myself to others but i just feel it for myself, for my career in the coming future..
any senior developers or college students suggesting anything regarding this??
It’s easy for me cause i don’t study for making many marks i study just for pass about syllabus😂 for that i do firstly i make all notebooks for all subjects and make a note for all subjects which teach by teachers in collage and understand concept clearly in class not in home and leave this after understand and i don’t study in home. When exam is too near like 15days just make a rivision this note and some concept comes in mind and not study like ghokne k samjhine gare padne ani side handine😂. And make in mind title vaye 1 page tw tettikai lekhinxa vanne kura halka concept vaye milayera lekhne bani rakhne ani aaru time ma chai make your learning curve continuous and make projects it’s working good for me aahile samma ko semesters ma pass chai vako xu😂.
PS: Paragraph purai padnu hola.😂
Many students are studying as well as working in a company. If they can manage their time then you can manage too. Time management skills are a great skill to have as a student. Stick to one skill and learn to improve your skill. You don’t need to give your whole time, Just give 1 hour if you are really busy with something. One hour is nothing (your one day can waste by scrolling social media) and you can easily manage it. If your college is in the morning time then you have the whole evening and you can separate only one hour from it.
Skill is not a thing can achieve in one day, You have to practice and practice more to gain the skill. Well, I am not a perfectionist too but I know how to manage the time of college work, my own project work, and my job. So, Don’t distract yourself by social media and anything, Wake up early if your college starts in the day to manage time. Lastly, It is not an impossible thing to do, I can do it means you can do it too.
You still have 2 years until your bachelors program ends. So if you could dedicate minimum of 1 hour of time to learn to code, web devs or andriod devs, it will all add up and you will have enough knowledge to build your own projects.
But focus all that time to learn just 1 programming language. Since there are tons of juicy languages like java, php, c#, c++, javascript, etc you will keep changing your focus so just focus on one of the language.
For web dev, i suggest you to checkout theodinproject.com, you can easily complete that and build a project of your own in a year or less. But you gotta sacrifice outing times for some period.
Remember: 1 hour seems small for now but 1 hour regular for 2 year is massive.
The higher the ambition the harder you will have to work and compromise with your life. You will always have a lot of time, it depends how much of it you want to put in career.
If anyone is doing both well, they are practically dedicated to career fully.
Never burn yourself out would be my suggestion.
Some skill that might not be covered in your BCA course but you can start learning on your own through web could be: Web/Desktop/Mobile app development, azure/amazon or any cloud training, Docker/Kubernetes/ELK stack in deployment side, Microsoft 365 developer, Testing tools if you want to be QA, Business tools like Jira (Scrum master), RPA tools, Data science (ML), Designing, Networking, Database etc.
Just choose one of them which interest you the most and try to learn at your own speed. Be a jack of all you need to have some information in all of them even though you might be working in one of the vertical depending upon your choice. The vertical you choose you will need to go in depth more. It might look overwhelming sometime just take it step by step.
You still have alot of time you can learn and focus on the skill of your interest. Small amount of time everyday with great interest can help you learn things easily and efficiently
isnt BCA morning class?
Yess it’s morning class
if you are not doing any job…then you can surely manage an hour a day for practicing any language and doing projects…
i have day college and thats how i manage😅an hour a day
Apart from your college schedule make another schedule where you will be focused just on your skill development. Separating 2-3hours everyday to learn something will help you stand out your existing skills and doing s everyday will leads you be a better developer sooner or later. Just be consistent about your learning and be focused on that respective 2-3hours.
