Greetings, I am joining computer science faculty in class 11 this year. I am aiming software engineering after 12. So, as a mentor, what would you suggest me must to do in this two years of time? Should I focus on coding or physics, chemistry would be important for s/w engineering?
PS. I prefer coding more than studying. I’ve mastered the fundamentals of Python and HTML (which were on the syllabus for classes 7, 8, and 9), WordPress (not coding at all) and am currently working on some advanced C topics.
How should I focus in these two years to be strong in bachelor?

The perfect option for you is Diploma in Information Technology / Computer Engineering.
When you are learning to code, don’t learn the syntax, learn to program. I know it may sound similar but trust me, its different. What people do is they learn programming language from youtube and try to build projects where they copy code from stack overflow, thats not coding my friend, thats code management.
Coding is all about maths, and if you are aiming for much more complex apps them physics will be very vital for you. So focus on them, learn concept and learn to problem solve. Learn to apply principle of physics and maths. Syntax you can learn from documentation that are found in google. But you can’t learn concept that easily.
But if you just want to be a copy paste senior coder who just aims to finish project just for the sake of it, then just watching youtube video and building projects will help. But if you want to master it, then learn maths, physics, data structure and algorithms.
Why don’t you go for Diploma in Computer Engineering instead. That way you’ll study subjects related to computer science and you can focus on coding side-by-side.
My plan was this, but I didn’t get good response from people supporting this 😂😂
It’s actually the best option for you, if you are sure about working in IT field.
If you can excel well in 3 years of diploma, you can pause your formal education and start self-learning after that.
As you are interested in coding , its gonna be way easy and interesting for you to learn different programming languages but when it comes to physics and chemistry it would be difficult to understand as well as score good marks . Give enough time to the physics and chemistry during +2 and dont understimate the present for the future . All subjects are important . For these two years focus for the good grade in certificate and use your free time for your interested activities.
